On May 5th, 2000, friends and family of Rebecca Anne Heatherington gathered to remember her life and place a stone under a tree in front of Old Orchard Junior High School. Rebecca attended Old Orchard from the Fall of 1989 to the Spring of 1990. While at Old Orchard she participated in the orchestra, school play and was an outstanding student.

The program began with an OOJH string quartet playing Ashokan Farewell.

Kristen, OOJH student, Bill Baurenfeind, OOJH teacher, & Father Bob Myers spoke at the ceremony.

Father Myers remembered Rebecca as a young women with:

Great Courage

Great Hope &

A Great Smile

The ceremony ended with the unveiling of the stone and a final song by the String Quartet.

After the ceremony a reception was held in the school cafeteria.
